QuickLabs testing administration

Random Drug & Alcohol Testing

Keep testing selections, notifications, and coordination organized throughout the year. QuickLabs administers random testing programs for covered trucking operations.

Request Service

Unannounced, throughout the year

Random testing is different from scheduled annual testing. Eligible drivers are selected using an appropriate random selection process, and tests are spread through the year. Applicable FMCSA annual testing rates guide the program; drug and alcohol selection rates are not necessarily the same.

From selection to coordination

QuickLabs supports pool administration, selections, testing coordination, and program documentation. Keep your driver roster current and make sure your designated company contact can respond promptly to notifications.

Choose the pool that fits

A consortium combines eligible drivers from multiple employers. An eligible multi-driver company may use a dedicated company pool. A sole owner-operator cannot meet the random testing requirement by selecting from a pool containing only themselves.

Employer responsibilities remain with the employer. Read the official DOT / FMCSA guidance.

A useful question

Does a follow-up test count as a random test?
No. Follow-up testing is a separate obligation prescribed by a SAP. Drivers remain subject to applicable random testing as well.
